Meet the Real-Life Kids of the Chicago Fire Cast — On Set, Off Screen, and In the Spotlight
From Firehouse 51 to Family Life, These Actors Are Proud Parents Behind the Scenes
As Chicago Fire blazes into Season 14, fans know that the crew of Firehouse 51 is more than just a team — they’re family. But for several cast members, that sense of family doesn’t stop when the cameras cut.
Off-screen, stars like Christian Stolte, David Eigenberg, and Dermot Mulroney are proud parents — and in some cases, their children have stepped into the One Chicago universe, too.
Let’s meet the next generation behind your favorite firefighters.
🔥 Christian Stolte (Randall “Mouch” McHolland) and His Talented Daughters
Christian Stolte has been with Chicago Fire since day one, portraying lovable veteran Mouch. But few fans realize that Stolte’s real-life daughters — Corinne and Greta Stolte — have both appeared on the show.
Corinne portrayed Lizzie, Mouch’s biological daughter, in a Season 3 episode about an anonymous sperm donor leak. She later reprised the role on Chicago Med and even worked behind the scenes on Chicago P.D., where she was part of the crew for 35 episodes.
Greta’s cameo was even earlier — and even more iconic. She was the very first person rescued in the pilot episode of Chicago Fire. “She was small enough that Jesse [Spencer] handed her off to David [Eigenberg] after crawling out of a residential blaze,” Stolte shared in an interview.
Today, Greta is a college student, but her moment in Chicago Fire history is one her dad clearly cherishes.
🧒 David Eigenberg (Christopher Herrmann) and His Two Kids
David Eigenberg, best known as gruff-but-loving Herrmann, is also a devoted dad in real life. Married to wife Chrysti Eigenberg since 2002, the couple has two children: Louie, born in 2009, and Myrna, born in 2014.
Though the Sex and the City alum is private about his family, he offered fans a sweet glimpse in 2024 when he posted about a nostalgic birthday gift from his kids — a rare vintage puppet from his childhood show. “If you’re my age and from the Midwest,” he joked, “you’ll know how special this is.”
🎬 Dermot Mulroney (Chief Dom Pascal) and His Hollywood Son
Chicago Fire’s newest addition, Dermot Mulroney, joined in Season 13 as Chief Dom Pascal. Outside the show, he’s a dad of three: son Clyde, from his previous marriage to Catherine Keener, and daughters Mabel and Sally, with estranged wife Prima Apollinaare.
Clyde is following in dad’s footsteps — not as an actor, but as a behind-the-scenes creative. A Northwestern University film grad, Clyde has worked on numerous film projects as a camera operator and assistant director.
Mulroney says he encourages his kids to follow their own paths. “I don’t expect anything of them,” he once told The Hollywood News. “Let’s just get them through grade school and see what happens.”
❤️ Firehouse 51 Is Family — On Screen and Off
As Chicago Fire continues its fiery run, it’s clear that family — real and fictional — is at the heart of the show. And for these actors, it’s not just a job — it’s legacy.
Which of these cameos surprised you most? And do you think any of their kids might join the CFD for real someday?
