Molly Rainford Opens Up About ‘Eye-Opening’ Experience and Mental Health Support in TV Industry
From Britain’s Got Talent to EastEnders, Molly Rainford has grown up in the public eye — and now, at just 24, she’s using her platform to talk about grief, mental health, and the importance of emotional support in the entertainment industry.

An ‘Eye-Opening’ Experience That Changed Her Perspective
In an exclusive conversation with the Daily Mail, Molly reflected on an emotional meeting with former carer Ellen Goodwin, as part of Marie Curie and Superdrug’s new End of Life Salon initiative — the world’s first project of its kind offering free beauty treatments to unpaid carers supporting loved ones through their final days.
Molly said:
“I hadn’t met any young carers who had to look after their parents, and she really opened my eyes to how real and raw it is. I’m now at an age where I truly understand what these platforms are for, and it’s important for me to share it.”
The initiative, which Molly now fronts, aims to highlight the 762,000 unpaid carers across the UK who provide end-of-life care for family members.
Reflecting on Grief and Gratitude
Molly lost her beloved grandmother Doreen last year, just a year after the death of her cousin Ben, and says those experiences deeply shaped her.
“My gran didn’t make it to palliative care — if we knew that was an option, it would have been more comfortable for her towards the end,” she explained.
“It does make you come together as a family. I saw my mum kind of revert to the baby in the situation and realised I had to step up and be her support.”

Therapy, On-Set Support, and Self-Care
Molly also spoke candidly about mental health and the emotional toll of working in TV, revealing how grateful she is to have access to support systems on set.
“I haven’t personally had therapy, but one thing I feel lucky about is with the industry I work in — a lot of the shows I’ve done, like Strictly and EastEnders, have on-site therapists or someone you can speak to. I’ve been lucky enough to have that support if I need it. It couldn’t be more important.”
Her reflection comes at a time when conversations about mental health in the entertainment industry are more vital than ever — with Molly praising the BBC’s increasing focus on providing resources for cast and crew.

Life, Love, and Travel with Tyler West
Away from work, Molly has been enjoying life with her fiancé Tyler West, whom she met during Strictly Come Dancing in 2022. The couple recently starred in BBC’s Celebrity Race Across The World, a test of endurance and teamwork that she describes as “the best adventure of our lives.”
“We thought, if we can get through this, we can get through anything — hence why we’re engaged now,” she said. “We had disagreements, but it really showed our strength and communication. It made us stronger.”
Tyler proposed soon after filming wrapped, during a romantic trip to Mykonos in August 2025. Sharing the moment online, he wrote:
“Found our forever. 10.8.2025.”

Looking Ahead: Love, Work, and New Beginnings
Now happily engaged, the couple are enjoying their “engagement bubble” before diving into wedding planning. Molly laughed, saying:
“My phone immediately sent me every wedding TikTok. We’ve subconsciously picked some locations we like — we want to go abroad for the sun — but we’re just enjoying this stage for now.”
As for her future in EastEnders, Molly continues to shine as Anna Knight, balancing her acting career with advocacy work that’s close to her heart.
“It’s about finding balance and remembering how lucky I am to have support — not everyone gets that. Meeting carers like Ellen reminded me how important it is to use your platform to raise awareness.”
