Sister Wives returned with a new episode that focused on Kody Brown and Robyn Brown addressing the state of their marriage after years of family changes.

During the Sunday, January 4 episode, Kody spoke openly about how the end of his marriages to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown affected his relationship with Robyn. He acknowledged that his focus on repairing those past relationships created distance in his current marriage.

Kody explained that the family had gone through several years of separation and emotional strain, which carried over into his life with Robyn.

While he worked through unresolved feelings tied to his former marriages, he admitted that Robyn was often left waiting. The episode showed both of them reflecting on how that period shaped their trust and communication.

Robyn also shared her perspective, saying she noticed changes in Kody after he began apologizing to his ex-wives. At the same time, she admitted that progress was not steady.

As Kody and Robyn discussed forgiveness and trust, the episode also followed Janelle and Meri as they officially closed the door on their marriages to Kody and looked ahead to new chapters in their lives.

Kody reflects on his apologies and marriage to Robyn in Sister Wives

Kody told cameras that repairing his past relationships became his main focus after his three marriages ended. He admitted that this affected his relationship with Robyn.

“Robyn and I are fighting for our marriage and our life together,” Kody said, explaining that the family had gone through “four years or more of breakup.”

He shared that when he was able to act with patience and honesty, his relationship with Robyn felt stable.

“I guess what I’m saying is Robyn and I have a great relationship when I’m being me,” Kody said.

He later added that rebuilding trust was necessary after years of conflict.

Robyn said she noticed a shift in Kody after he took responsibility for his actions. “There’s such a difference in Kody since he’s done his apologies,” she said during a confessional.

She explained that his efforts brought a sense of calm she had not seen in a long time.

However, Robyn noted that setbacks still happen. She said Kody sometimes returns to old patterns shaped by divorce and anger. Despite that, both agreed they wanted to continue working on their marriage and move forward together.

Forgiveness, trust, and moving forward as a family in Sister Wives

One of the main moments of this episode of Sister Wives came when Kody directly asked Robyn for forgiveness. “Do you forgive me?” he asked during their conversation.

Robyn responded emotionally, saying, “Yeah. Yes. Yes, I did as it was happening.” She explained that her own past divorce helped her understand how difficult the situation had been.

Kody apologized for not trusting Robyn fully and told her she now had his trust. Robyn replied, “You have mine,” confirming their shared commitment to rebuilding their relationship. She also said that while Kody did get frustrated at times, she saw him trying to improve.

The episode also followed Janelle as she received a spiritual release from the church, officially ending her marriage to Kody. “I am free. I am free. I’m free,” she said after the decision.

Janelle later met with Meri, who had also received a release, and the two reflected on feeling relieved.

Christine later hosted a small gathering for Janelle to mark the moment. Janelle said she was not ready for a new relationship but felt lighter after the chapter closed.
