Time Runs Out for Robert Sugden as His Double Life Collapses in Explosive New Emmerdale Spoiler Video
Robert Sugden’s secrets are spiralling out of control in Emmerdale, and the latest spoiler clip confirms that his carefully built world is about to come crashing down. The beloved character, played by Ryan Hawley, has been walking a dangerous line between two lives — one with Aaron Dingle, the other with his terminally ill husband, Kev Townsend.

Robert’s Past Comes Back to Haunt Him
Robert’s life took a dramatic turn when Kev, played by Chris Coghill, suddenly arrived in the village. Viewers recently learned that the two men met in prison and even got married behind bars. When Robert was released, he never imagined he would see Kev again, so he rekindled his relationship with Aaron Dingle, hoping for a fresh start.
But when texts from Kev began appearing, Robert’s perfect second chance began to unravel.
Kev’s Release Changes Everything
In this week’s Emmerdale scenes, Robert visits Kev and learns that his former cellmate is also being released. The shock on Robert’s face says it all — his secret is now impossible to contain. Kev explains he’s joining an outreach programme and will be living with village vicar Charles Anderson, putting him mere steps away from Aaron’s home.
Kev, who is terminally ill, believes his time with Robert will be peaceful and full of love. Robert, however, is terrified. He knows that keeping both relationships hidden is becoming impossible.

“He’s Unhinged but Redeemable,” Says Ryan Hawley
Discussing the new storyline, Ryan Hawley described Kev as “a big obstacle and something very different and volatile.” He explained, “Dangerous not in a calculated way like John was, but unhinged and unpredictable. You don’t want to break his heart, and Robert doesn’t want to betray him. His feelings for Kev are complicated.”
The tension rises even further in the new video clip, where Kev meets Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins). When Robert arrives, Kev compliments her recovery from her brain operation — a story Robert invented to help explain his early release. Victoria reminds her brother that his lies are stacking up fast, urging him once again to tell Aaron the truth.
Aaron Learns the Truth
Victoria’s warnings prove true when Aaron catches Robert and Kev sharing a kiss outside the Woolpack. The emotional fallout promises to be devastating.
“It’s going to be explosive,” Ryan teased. “Aaron believes they’re finally on the right path, that all the chaos is behind them. Then suddenly this guy turns up — Robert’s old cellmate — and he sees them kissing. It’s a massive betrayal.”
To make matters worse, Aaron’s already fragile trust will be shattered again when he learns that Robert’s half-brother was also aware of the secret.

Robert’s Past Unfolds in a Special Standalone Episode
Fans won’t have long to wait for answers. One of Emmerdale’s upcoming standalone episodes will take a deeper look into Robert’s life behind bars, exploring how prison changed him and how his connection to Kev began.
Two more special episodes will focus on April Windsor’s terrifying grooming ordeal and Bear Wolf’s mysterious disappearance, promising a trio of emotional, hard-hitting instalments that will redefine life in the village.
