When Yellowstone introduced Jimmy Hurdstrom’s journey to the legendary Four Sixes Ranch back in Season 4, fans thought it was just the beginning. The episode felt like a backdoor pilot, teasing a grittier, Texas-bound tale of cowboy grit and legacy. But as 2025 winds down, there’s still no official word on whether 6666 is even moving forward.

Jefferson White returned as Jimmy in the final season of Yellowstone (Season 5 Part 2), sparking renewed speculation about the spinoff. Yet, Paramount has remained silent since 2022, when it was last reported that the project had shifted from Paramount+ to the Paramount Network. The lack of updates has fans questioning if this long-promised chapter is quietly being shelved.

Sheridan Rides Off Into the Sunset—But Not Yet
Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind the Yellowstone universe, has complicated the future of 6666 by signing a major new deal with NBCUniversal. While his current Paramount deal runs through 2028, his official NBCUniversal contract kicks off in 2029. That looming transition—and Sheridan’s infamous habit of writing alone, at his own pace—has made many wonder whether 6666 will happen at all, or if it’s simply on pause.

Director Christina Voros shed some light on the wait, admitting that scripts often arrive with no warning. “When the time to tell the story is upon us, there will be a script in my inbox,” she said. Until then, no one—including cast and crew—truly knows what’s next.

Four Sixes: A Land of Potential, Cast Unknown
Paramount’s original pitch promised a brutal, lawless drama set on the historic Texas ranch: “where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge.” The setting is iconic. The story? Still unwritten.

There’s no confirmed cast, but all signs point to Jefferson White leading the charge. Jen Landon’s Teeter took a job at the Four Sixes in the Yellowstone finale, suggesting she could appear in the spinoff. Sheridan’s own character, horse trainer Travis, also has ties to the ranch. And Jimmy’s wife, Emily (played by Kathryn Kelly), could play a major role.

White filmed at the real Four Sixes ranch in summer 2024 and posted about it just before Season 5 Part 2 aired. His character arc—from rodeo disaster to cowboy redemption—felt like a setup for something bigger.
