‘Yellowstone’ Beth & Rip Spin-Off Officially Titled The Dutton Ranch — Annette Bening Joins Cast
The long-awaited Yellowstone spin-off centered on fan favorites Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler has finally received its official title — The Dutton Ranch — and a major casting announcement to go with it.
Kelly Reilly & Cole Hauser Saddle Up Once Again
After months of speculation, Paramount has confirmed that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser will reprise their iconic roles as Beth and Rip in the new Yellowstone offshoot. The series, created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, will continue in the present-day timeline following the events of Yellowstone’s explosive fifth and final season.
According to Deadline, The Dutton Ranch will explore life after the Dutton empire’s collapse — a more personal, stripped-down look at Beth and Rip’s efforts to survive outside their father’s shadow.
The official logline reads:
“The Dutton Ranch, home to Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser), is a testament to the peace they sought, fought for, and nearly died for, as they’ve come to cherish their 7,000-acre land. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Finn Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
Finn Little is confirmed to return as Carter, the couple’s surrogate son, who will play a pivotal role in the series’ emotional core.
Annette Bening Joins as the Rival Ranch Matriarch
In a major addition to the cast, Annette Bening has signed on to play Beulah Jackson, the “powerful, cunning, and charming head of a major ranch in Texas.”
The Oscar-nominated actress brings decades of gravitas to the project, with credits including American Beauty, The Kids Are All Right, 20th Century Women, and Nyad, for which she earned an Academy Award nomination in 2023.
Beulah Jackson is expected to serve as both an adversary and unlikely mirror to Beth — another strong-willed woman willing to fight tooth and nail for her land and family.
Behind the Scenes: A Sheridan Production Through and Through
The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, alongside David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Chad Feehan, Christina Voros, and stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser themselves.
The Dutton Ranch comes from Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, continuing Sheridan’s fruitful partnership with Paramount, which also includes 1883, 1923, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
No official release date has been set yet, but production is already underway — and given Sheridan’s fast turnaround record, a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere seems likely.
The Next Chapter of Yellowstone
The Dutton Ranch represents the next evolution of Sheridan’s neo-Western universe. While Yellowstone chronicled the fight to protect the Dutton legacy, this new series will follow Beth and Rip’s attempt to define their own — one rooted in love, survival, and redemption rather than empire-building.
With Annette Bening joining the mix, the spin-off promises the kind of high-stakes drama, emotional grit, and powerhouse performances that have made the Yellowstone brand one of television’s biggest success stories.
