Yellowstone Spoilers: Cole Hauser Reflects on Fame and Prepares for Dutton Ranch
Fame Brings Unusual Encounters
Cole Hauser, best known for his role as Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone, recently shared some surprising experiences with fans since rising to mainstream fame. In a candid interview with Page Six, Hauser revealed that older female fans have occasionally gotten “a little aggressive” after a few drinks.
“I’ve had some old women grab my a–,” Hauser admitted. “It’s been a little bit … a little bit strange. But for the most part, everyone’s been very respectful.”
Before Yellowstone, Hauser had built a career in films including Good Will Hunting and Dazed and Confused. Yet the show’s massive popularity has placed him in the spotlight in entirely new ways, including these unusual fan interactions.
Returning to the Yellowstone Universe
While Hauser’s personal anecdotes have caught fans’ attention, the big news is his return to the Yellowstone universe. Hauser, along with Kelly Reilly, is set to reprise his role as Rip Wheeler in the upcoming spin-off series tentatively titled The Dutton Ranch.
The new series will continue the story of Rip and Beth Dutton, picking up where the fifth season of Yellowstone left off. The Duttons are navigating life after the death of John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, and will face new challenges managing their 7,000-acre ranch.
Star-Studded Spin-Off Cast
Fans can expect big names joining the cast. Academy Award nominee Annette Bening has signed on to play Beulah Jackson, a powerful and cunning ranch owner in Texas. With Taylor Sheridan producing, alongside Hauser and Reilly, the spin-off promises the same intensity and drama that made the original series a hit.
A show description teases: “Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
Hauser on Creative Direction
Hauser also hinted at the excitement surrounding the spin-off while finishing up filming for the original show. “I’m so focused on finishing Yellowstone the way it needs to be finished right now – well, just the show itself,” he said.
He added, “But I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself, and some of the other cast. I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that. But right now, it’s just: Let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.”
What Fans Can Expect
The upcoming series is expected to focus heavily on Rip and Beth’s relationship, their management of the ranch, and the growth of Carter into the man he’s meant to be. With the combination of familiar characters and new additions like Beulah Jackson, the spin-off promises to expand the Yellowstone universe while delivering high-stakes drama.
Fans can also look forward to Taylor Sheridan’s signature storytelling style, blending family drama, personal conflict, and Western grit. Hauser’s return as Rip Wheeler ensures continuity for long-time viewers and guarantees that the beloved characters fans have followed for years remain at the center of the story.
