Fans of The Young and the Restless have a unique opportunity to influence a major storyline this fall: choosing the wedding dress for Christine “Cricket” Blair (Lauralee Bell) ahead of her marriage to Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).
The CBS soap has confirmed that Cricket and Danny will remarry in a long-awaited ceremony, decades after their original destination wedding in Hawaii in 1990. That first marriage ended when Danny’s affair with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) came to light. On Friday, September 19, at 3:30 p.m. ET, the show’s official Instagram will launch a poll allowing fans to select one of three bridal gown options for Cricket. The poll will run for 24 hours and will also appear on Bell’s Instagram.
“This is a way for fans to feel involved in a story they’ve loved for decades,” Bell told Us Weekly. She explained that the poll was inspired by the devotion of Y&R viewers, calling it an opportunity to make fans part of the wedding experience.
Bell has already tried on all three dresses and described them as “extremely comfortable.” She added, “I don’t know that I have a favorite. I want this to completely be what the fans choose.”

The wardrobe team considered Cricket’s age and character when designing the options. Bell noted, “They’re all kind of simple and elegant. Nothing’s showing. They’re all appropriate for this stage in her life.”

Bell has portrayed Cricket since 1983, and the upcoming wedding marks a milestone in a storyline spanning more than three decades. Bell recalled her excitement when the engagement episode aired in July: “Finally. It’s been 35 years in the making,” she said. Both actors acknowledged the unpredictable nature of soap weddings, joking about how intimate or cast-filled the ceremony might be.
